Answer the following questions.
1. Why was the king advised to go to magicians?
Answer: The King wanted to know the answer of What is the right time to begin something? In order to decide the right time for doing something, it is necessary to look into the future, and only magicians could do that. Hence, the kind was advised to go to magicians.
2. In answer to the second question, whose advice did the people say would be important to the king?
Answer: In answer to the second question of the King, many wise men answered but their answers were so varied, some said that the people were the most necessary to the king, some said priest, councilors; others said Doctors, and yet others said that his soldiers were the most necessary.
3. What suggestions were made in answer to the third question?
Answer: In answer to the third question also many men answered like the first and second one their answers were varied, some said science, others chose to fight, and yet others religious worship.
4. Did the wise men win the reward? If not, why not?
Answer: No, the wise men did not win the reward, As the answers were so different, the king was not satisfied and gave no reward.
5. How did the King and the hermit help the wounded man?
Answer: The king and the hermit saw a bearded man who was wounded badly, First of all, they removed the man's clothing, Then the king washed and covered the wounded stomach with his handkerchief, as the blood was not stop flowing, the King re-dressed the wound until the bleeding stopped.
6. (i) Who was the bearded man?
Answer: The bearded man was the brother of the King's enemy.
(ii) Why did he ask for the king's forgiveness?
Answer: Actually, The wounded bearded man who was helped by the King and the hermit was the brother of the king's enemy, seeing the king going alone to meet hermit, the bearded made up his mind to kill the king as revenge for his deceased brother. The bearded man asked for the king's forgiveness because he planned to kill the king but the king has saved his life when he was deeply wounded by the king's bodyguard.
7. The king forgave the bearded man. What did he do to show his forgiveness?
Answer: The king forgave the bearded man he was very happy to have made peace with his enemy so easily.
The king not only forgave the bearded man, besides he sends his servants and his own doctor to look after him and also promised to give back his seized property.
8. What were the hermit's answers to the three questions? Write each answer separately. Which answer do you like most, and why?
Answer: What is the right time to begin something? In answer to this question, the hermit answered that there is only one time that is important and that time is 'Now'. It is the most important time because it is the only time we have the power to act.
Which people should he listen to? - In answer to this second question Hermit answered that "The most necessary person is the person you are with at a particular moment, for no one knows what will happen in the future and whether we will meet anyone else".
What is the most important thing for him to do? In answer to this third question, The hermit answered that the most important business is to do that person well because we were sent into this world for that purpose only.
I liked the answer to the first question that there is only one time that is important and that time is now. Because now is the only time we have the power to act. We shouldn't put off doing something until tomorrow, tomorrow never comes, now is the best time to take action.
