EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

Born on 6th April 1986 , in Bhairahawa (Nepal)  , He is the captain of the Kantipur Gurkhas of the Nepal premier League , He first represented his country Nepal at under 17 level by playing Under-17 level Asia cup in Pakistan in July 2000. In the second match he was awarded as the man of the match for taking 3 important wickets against Bahrain.

In the year 2002, Basant Regmi played his first under - 19 world cup in New Zealand, in the said tournament Nepal finished the tournament as a runners up ,but he could not do much there as he did not get enough games to play .

He also played his second under 19 world cup in the year 2004 which was hosted by Bangladesh.
Again ,in the year 2006 he played another under 19 world cup and took 12 wickets and made 141 runs with the bat .

BASANT REGMI INTERNATIONAL CAREER

 • His first debut in international match was against Namibia in an ICC inter continental cup

 • In the year 2007, he played four matches for Nepal in ACC Twenty20 cup in Kuwait.

 • In the year 2008 he played  ACC trophy elite in Malaysia.

 • In the year 2014 world cup qualifier in new Zealand he scored 119 runs and picked up 9 wickets .

 • He was also awarded as the best bowler in 2014 ICC world cricket League Division three .

 • He took 8 wickets in the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier at an average of 13.75 and an economy rate of 6.40,[34] including a four-wicket haul against Hong Kong,[35] which is the best bowling figures of a Nepalese bowler in the T20I format.

• He made his ODI debut for Nepal against the Netherlands on 1 August 2018

 • In August 2018, he was named in Nepal's squad for the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier tournament.
